Friday 5th September 2003: TUC research shows that stress is Britainís number one workplace health hazard.
Recent report shows that workers exposed to stress for at least half their working lives are 25 per cent more likely to die from a heart attack, and have 50 per cent higher odds of suffering a fatal stroke. Also, blue-collar workers are more prone to such illnesses than executives. These facts are exposed in the ëmodern workers health checkí featured in the latest issue of TUC backed Hazards magazine

A report on "Building Community Well-Being" was launched at a national conference at Stirling University in June 2003 . The Improving Community Well-being: the Challenge conference was held to generate discussion for community planning partners on action to promote well-being in communities.

Thursday 23rd September 2004: £18.7m stress research centre opens in Bristol.
An £18.7m research centre looking into stress has been opened in Bristol by Lord Sainsbury. Dorothy Hodgkin Building, part of the University of Bristol, will house 120 researchers.

They will investigate new approaches to the treatment of stress-related illness, psychiatric disorders and Alzheimer's disease.
